Welcome to The Tribe!
The Tribe is LWCC's youth ministry -- and honestly, it is one of our favourite things about this church. Every Friday during term time, young people aged 11 to 18 gather at Honeypot Lane from 7pm to 9pm for games, laughter, honest conversations, and real encounters with Jesus.
We do not believe in keeping faith at a safe distance from real life. We want young people to know that Jesus is relevant to everything -- their friendships, their struggles, their questions, their futures. The Tribe is a place where that conversation can happen in a genuinely safe, fun, and welcoming environment.

What Happens on a Friday
A brilliant mix of team games, challenges, group discussions, and honest conversations about faith and life. Occasionally we hold special evenings -- film nights, game nights, takeaway evenings -- which are always a highlight. The biggest event of the year is our annual camping trip to Norfolk with other youth groups and their leaders. It is legendary.
Our Youth Leaders
The Tribe is led by our dedicated, employed Youth leaders who pour their hearts into this ministry week after week. They are supported by elders Aldo and Jonathan. Our young people are in brilliant hands.
Safeguarding
The safety of every young person is our highest priority. All leaders and volunteers working with young people are DBS checked and trained. Our full Safeguarding Policy is available on the website.

Q: When and where does The Tribe meet?
A: Every Friday during term time, 7pm to 9pm, at Living Word Community Church, Honeypot Lane, Basildon SS14 2JZ. Just turn up -- new faces are always so welcome.
Q: What age is The Tribe for?
A: Young people aged 11 to 18. If you are not sure whether your teenager fits the age range, just get in touch and we will help you figure it out.
Q: My teenager has never been to church and has lots of questions. Is that okay?
A: That is exactly what The Tribe is designed for! We create a genuinely safe space where young people can be completely honest about their doubts and questions, with zero pressure. No faith required to walk through the door.
Q: Is it safe?
A: Absolutely. All leaders are DBS checked and trained. The Tribe operates within our full Safeguarding Policy which is available on the website. Please contact us directly if you ever have any concerns.
Q: How does my teenager sign up?
A: Email office@livingworduk.church or just turn up on a Friday evening. Every young person is warmly welcomed into the family.
Q: Can I volunteer with The Tribe?
A: Yes! If you love young people and want to invest in the next generation, we would love to hear from you. All volunteers complete a safeguarding process including DBS checks, and we take time to get to know you. Email office@livingworduk.church.
Q: What is the Norfolk camping trip?
A: Every year The Tribe joins other youth groups for a week-long camping adventure in Norfolk. It is one of the highlights of the year -- brilliant fun, deep friendships, and genuine faith moments. Every young person who has been on it has loved it.
